Description
Commemorating King Edward Vll’s coronation, this period framed needlework is in an Ebonised wooden frame with gold detail roundels. The embroidered picture shows King Edward and Queen Alexandra, a coat of arms and the Union Jack. It reads “Coronation Day King Edward Vll 26th June 1902” which was the original date of the coronation before it was postponed to August due to the King’s ill health. As with any item of this age, it bears some chips and scars, but still a wonderful slice of history.
